Celebrations

The opening of the new play area was a roaring success as hundreds of local people came to see the transformation of the Marsh.

The sun shone and the children played. Malago WI provided tea and cakes, the Bug Man showed us his creepy crawlies, music floated across Ashton thanks to Icing, Rhymetime and the piano that anyone could have a go on, and Circomedia taught us circus skills.
The highlight was Bristol City Football Club's Louis Carey, who officially opened the play area, and posed for photos with his fans.

More pictures can be seen on Flickr - look out for the photos of all the children with their painted faces- Sarah, our facepainter, worked non-stop for a full four hours!

It was wonderful to see Gores Marsh full of people- and a very satisfying after all our hard work. Thanks to everyone who made the day a success...... now for Phase 2!
